In Lanikai, most people are so encaptured by the ocean, that they miss the beauty of what's thriving on the hillside. This gorgeous hibiscus was being overlooked, and it made me so happy to see a new flower bloom. Each flower, although on the same bush, looked different from the other. I have a series of these hibiscus paintings in the works with the intention of displaying them side by side for comparison.
