Our Story

Tassyanna Dosier ~ New Owner of Happy Canvas LLC

Born and raised in Kailua, Tassyanna always had a love for nature and a passion for art. Since she was little she struggled with learning and paying attention. But when she would draw her mind would clear, she would be able to listen. Art helped her find a place in this world. She believes that creating art expresses emotions that we can’t always say in words.

Her inspiration to start a business in teaching, however, came from the children living in her small community. Growing up, she did not have access to art lessons, so she self-taught from library books. As an adult, she realized the children in her community were still as limited as she was. So, in 2011, she started teaching her first art students how to paint in her own backyard.

Her fascination with creating led her to make pottery and jewelry as well. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to make her life’s work about art. Her family booked a paint party with Jenna Cook, the founder of Happy Canvas. Tassy loved the way Jenna taught the class, so when she was offered to teach her how to teach painting, she leaped at the opportunity. This experience allowed her to hone her skills further and gain valuable insights into the world of art business.
